How much ice do I need to add?Updated 6 months ago

To keep your IcePod at the desired temperature, we recommend adding 15-40 lbs of ice per session, depending on your initial water temperature. The amount of ice needed varies based on factors such as your tap water temperature, local climate, and how cold you want the water to be. In colder climates, you might even find that you don’t need to add ice at all.

If you're looking for additional ways to manage your water temperature or if you just want it extra cold, here are some options:

      •
Ultra-Insulated Cover Set: This cover set includes a lid and a wrap-around cover with a 1/2-inch insulating layer, helping to keep the water colder for longer. For the LongPod, consider the Long Tub Insulated Cover Set.

       •
Water Circulation Jet: This jet keeps water moving at a flow rate of 2600 gallons per hour, which makes the water feel about 45% colder. It also helps prevent solid ice formation in colder climates.

       •
Water Chiller: For a consistent and hassle-free solution, our chiller cools the water to a refreshing 39°F with continuous 24/7 water flow and 20-micron filtration

Using the cover and circulation jet will always make the water feel colder, but in conjunction with the chiller they also maximize your cooling efficiency.

If the chiller isn’t within your budget, consider our
Ice Bricks. Each Ice Brick makes 3 lbs of ice, providing a total of 18 lbs to 36 lbs of ice blocks, which can help you maintain your desired water temperature effectively.
