Is the chiller gonna run up my electricity bill?Updated 6 months ago

No! Our standard water chiller uses only 280 watts per hour, while the PRO chiller uses 500 watts and this only happens when the chiller is actively cooling (not at all times as the thermostat controls this) and both the pump and compressor are running.

The pump operates 24/7 to circulate water, while the compressor cools the water until it reaches your set temperature. After that, the compressor typically runs only 20-30 minutes each hour to maintain the temperature, using about one-third of the power.

For example, at a room temperature of 77°F (25°C) and a chiller setting of 46°F (8°C), the chiller consumes about 1.4-1.8 kWh per day. At an average cost of $0.35 per kWh in the USA, this translates to around $0.50 per day to run The Pod Chiller continuously. (Actual costs may vary based on local climate and temperatures.)
