My chiller isn't cooling the waterUpdated 8 months ago
If your chiller isn’t cooling the water as expected, and the temperature seems off despite proper circulation, the issue might be related to the chiller's settings.
Here’s a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot and resolve the problem:
1. Ensure Proper Operation: Confirm that the chiller is turned on and the water is circulating correctly. If you don't have water flow then first read this article: Why is my water not circulating/pumping?
2. Adjust Temperature Settings:
- Press the SET button once (do not hold it down).
- Adjust the temperature up or down using the arrow buttons.
- Press the RST button (do not hold it down).
The chiller should start cooling and you should hear the compressor running within 3-5 minutes. If not, proceed to the next steps.
3. Verify and Adjust the F1 Setting:
- Press and hold the SET button for 3-5 seconds until "F1" appears on the display.
- Press the SET button again (do not hold it down).
- A number will appear; ensure this number is set to 3 (Fahrenheit). If not, adjust it accordingly.
- Press the RST button once to save the setting.
The F1 setting determines when the chiller restarts after reaching the desired temperature. For example, if you set the temperature to 40°F and F1 to 3°F, the chiller will cool the water to 40°F and restart when the temperature rises to 43°F (40+3°F). If the F1 setting is incorrectly set to a higher value, such as 30°F, the chiller will only restart after the temperature rises by 30°F above the set point.
If the chiller still isn’t cooling after step 1-3, verify the following:
4. Adjust the F2 Setting (if needed):
- Press and hold the SET button for 3-5 seconds until "F1" appears on the display.
- Click the arrow UP button once, you will now see F2 on the display
- Click the SET button again (do not hold it down this time)
- A number should appear, this number should always be set at 0 (Fahrenheit) if it isn't already.
- The F2 setting should always be set to 0°F to ensure proper operation unless our team tells you to change it.
